Catching up part 1

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to post, really post. Some of that is because of sensitive content…but mostly it’s because Blogger was not working right most of the time. So now Zach has set me up on a server he runs himself (it’s awesome to have a techy geek for a son). So much has happened lately I don’t think I could get caught up in a month of Sundays… and that’s what it would take, because it’s my day off! Failing the month of Sundays, I’ll try to give you the abridged version, part 1.

For the time being, my brother Michael is staying with us. Kind of a reset… he’s in the process of a divorce and working out visitation arrangements and such. So I have had not only the pleasure of getting to spend real-life time with my brother, but when it’s time for him to have his son Garrett, that means I get to play, too!

In other news…after jumping through several theoretical “hoops” and wracking my brain for good ideas, I made the cut and was invited to join a Social Media team for my favorite scrapbook designing website, Scrapbookgraphics.com. So now, in addition to actually scrapbooking, I’m studying social media marketing trends, wading through huge amounts of virtual information, looking for what’s applicable, and more importantly how to apply it. I don’t want to be a walking commercial… but I do know that this form of art has changed my entire life, and I’m just an average housewife with a home computer. That’s worth sharing with anyone who’s looking for the artist inside them.

I still haven’t finished my Dr. Who scarf, but that’s one of the things I find myself doing when I need to concentrate on something – knitting. I need to finish the scarf so I can use the needles – size 8 bamboo needles – to use to make Christmas presents. I have seen patterns for the cutest washcloths to tuck into stockings! Cloths with football team logos, and other neato shapes like flowers and hearts. But the scarf just gets longer and longer and I’m only about halfway through. That’s it for now. I hope you’ll bear with me while I learn WordPress and how to make it do all sorts of awesome things, like keep spammers away and do the dishes. I wish.

By the way… we’re nearly halfway through the month, and I haven’t noted a single thing I’m grateful for, and I am SO blessed right now. So I want to start, and I hope you will join me. Let’s see, 13 days….13 things I’m grateful for.

1. Having a job I can do in my pajamas.
2. My husband, who supports all my nutty ideas.
3. My family, that I can count on them and that they can count on me. It’s a good feeling to belong to something that strong.
4. Lucinda Vickers.
5. Technology. It’s amazing what we can do, and who we can share it with.
6. Lunesta.
7. That even with technology, some things are still a pleasure the old-fashioned way. Like knitting a scarf or canning a jar of peppers.

Okay, that’s 7. I’ll do another 7 tomorrow. I don’t want to tax myself. Tell me… what are YOU grateful for today?
Have a fantastic week!!
